Dog Bite / Animal Attack

Home  |  About Malone, Tauber & Sohn, P.C.  |  New York  |  Nassau  |  Suffolk

Dogs bite more than 4.7 million people each year, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

New York does not have a strict liability statute for dog bites, like other states, but currently remains a one bite state. If an accuser can prove that a dog has had a history of biting, or a tendency for being vicious, and that an owner should have known about that, the owner could be held strictly liable for a victims injuries caused by the bite. Don't let your insurance company pay for injuries that a dog's owner should be responsible for.

At Malone, Tauber & Sohn our lawyers know and understand New York dog bite law and are prepared to fight for your rights, whether that means settling your claim outside of court or proceeding with a trial.
