Electrical Injury
Home | About Malone, Tauber & Sohn, P.C. | New York | Nassau | Suffolk
Electrical injury is a significant cause of workplace death and disability. Severe trauma from the electrical injury can result in the need for survivors to undergo multiple surgeries, including amputations. Disability from electrical injury can be related to the patient's loss of physical abilities, and/or to the occurrence of neurologic, psychologic and psychiatric sequelae.
Sources of electrical injury may include contact with a high voltage power line as in construction or a car accident, contact between metal and electricity, water and electricity, electrical flashes from power lines or contact with any exposed electrical source, such as appliances, wiring or lighting.
